In the Unity Statement, the Department of Education (DepEd) vowed that they will continue to support whole of government efforts towards healing our nation by remaining committed to their goal amid this crisis. Read the unity statement below:

UNITY STATEMENT OF THE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION (DepEd)
We, officials and personnel of the Department of Education, are one with the Filipino nation in the battle against the COVID-19 pandemic.
From our Central Office to our schools, we are committed to give our time and render our skills for the greater good of our nation. For the national to the local government units, and for the country’s brave frontliners, we will support whole of government efforts towards healing our nation.
This is the purpose of Sulong EduKalidad – to move forward together as we prepare the education system for the future.
In this battle, our actions will be anchored on serving the public, and on ensuring that the health and safety of our learners, teachers, and personnel will be given priority in our policies.
We will approach this period of ‘new normal’ with patriotism, compassion and sensitivity, so that the process of learning will not be a burden for parents, our children and our teachers, but a ray of hope amidst the crisis. Despite the challenges along the way, we will ensure that we will strike the balance of offering quality education and caring for each other.
We are firmly committed to develop a comprehensive Learning Continuity Plan (LCP), which will address challenges through the necessary adjustments in the curriculum, alignment of learning materials, and relevant support to teachers and parents.
As we rally towards beating the unseen threat, we will be steadfast in delivering to the public only the truth and our selfless service, as we shun misinformation and division.
There is still much work to do. This is not the time to sow fear, doubt or hate but to offer unity, compassion, understanding, and love. On our part, we commit to the goal of delivering accessible, quality, liberating and safe basic education services in these critical times.
We, the million-strong workforce of DepEd, call on the whole nation to preserve the Bayanihan spirit.
We will not waver until all are healed. And we will not falter for the education of the millions of Filipino learners.
As one nation, we shall overcome, and heal as one.

PAHAYAG NG PAKIKIISA NG KAGAWARAN NG EDUKASYON
Kami, ang mga opisyal at kawani ng Kagawaran ng Edukasyon, ay kaisa ng sambayanang Pilipino sa laban sa pagpuksa ng COVID-19.
Mula sa Central Office hanggang sa aming mga paaralan, ipinangangako namin ang paglaan ng aming oras at kasanayan para sa ikabubuti ng ating bansa. Mula sa pambansa hanggang sa lokal na yunit ng pamahalaan at para sa ating matatapang na frontliners, susuportahan namin ang buong pagsisikap ng gobyerno tungo sa patuloy na paghilom ng ating bansa.
Ito ang layunin ng Sulong EduKalidad – ang magpatuloy nang sama-sama habang inihahanda natin ang sistema ng edukasyon para sa hinaharap.
Sa laban na ito, ang ating mga pagsusumikap at patakaran ay nakaangkla sa paglilingkod sa kapwa Pilipino, at ang pagtitiyak sa kaligtasan ng ating mga mag-aaral, guro, at kawani ay unang isasaalang-alang sa ating mga polisiya.
Haharapin natin ang ‘bagong normal’ ng may kahabagan, sensibilidad, at pagiging makabayan upang ang paraan ng pag-aaral ay hindi maging isang pasanin para sa mga magulang, mga anak at guro ngunit isang pag-asa sa gitna ng krisis. Sa kabila ng mga hamon na tatahakin, sisiguraduhin natin na magkakaroon ng balanse sa pagitan ng pagbibigay ng kalidad ng edukasyon at pag-aaruga sa bawat isa.
Tayo ay maglulunsad ng isang komprehensibong Learning Continuity Plan (LCP) na tutugon sa mga hamon kabilang ang mga kinakailangang pagsasaayos sa kurikulum, pagkakahanay ng mga materyales sa pagkatuto, at karampatang suporta para sa mga guro at magulang.
Habang sinusugpo pa natin ang hindi nakikitang banta, patuloy tayong magiging matatag sa paghahatid sa publiko ng katotohanan at wagas na paglilingkod upang sugpuin ang maling impormasyon at pagkakahati-hati.
Marami pang gawain ang dapat na harapin. Hindi ito ang oras upang magpalaganap ng takot, pag-aalinlangan at poot dahil ito ang panahon upang magkaloob ng pag-unawa at pagmamahal. Sa hanay ng Kagawaran, ipinangangako namin ang patuloy na paghahatid ng abot-kaya, dekalidad, mapagpalaya at ligtas na pangunahing serbisyo sa edukasyon sa panahong ito.
Kami, ang mga kawani ng DepEd, ay hinihikayat ang buong bansa na muling isabuhay ang diwa ng Bayanihan.
Tayo ay mananatili hanggang ang lahat ay gumaling. Tayo ay patuloy na lalaban upang makapagbigay ng edukasyon sa milyon-milyong mga Pilipinong mag-aaral.
Bilang isang bansa, tayo ay magtatagumpay at gagaling nang nagkakaisa.
